One of the major disadvantages of following the Transcon in this area is the Spoon River Valley. Due to all the hills and curvey roads, there are plenty of places where you are taken away from the tracks for long periods of time, making it very easy for trains to stab you somewhere, or miss them all together. Such was the case with my next westbound, which I wanted to grab at the CR 1250E overpass. Q-CHISBD6-16 and I ended up making it to the bridge at the same time. Thankfully, I beat it just in time to get a decent throw-away shot off. |

I made it to the east side of East Galesburg for Z-WSPLPK1-16 at the CR 825E crossing to begin my full day of Transcon fun east of Galesburg. |
