Description:
Freshly loaded tender indicates this massive 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomotive will be hauling the loaded ore cars out to the ore docks. History - Baldwin, 5/1941, serial #62529 The loco lasted until 1963 when it was sold for scrap. Specs - class M3, 63" drivers, 240 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 695,040, tractive effort of 140, 000 lb. There was no date, location or photographer listed for this photo so an approximate date and location were used.
