At this time, it was still common to see merged road power in its original form, and a lot of it still on its own rails. Here we see a set of MP power set to go out on a westbound. Even the sign still says MP.

MP GP38-2 2219 at North Little Rock, Arkansas on July 31, 1986, Kodachrome by CHuck Zeiler. Built in July 1980 (c/n 796323-22), delivered in Jenks Blue paint, it was repainted to MP yellow August 5, 1985, repainted to UP 2219 on September 28, 1993, then becoming UP 719 on February 14, 2003.
