| This is looking towards the Rondout diamond, the mainline runs left to right in this picture, while the EJ&E main is coming right at the picture. The EJ&E must not run this way much as the flangeways were packed with dirt and the railheads were all rusted. The yard not visible here, but straight ahead past the diamond was all rusted over as well. I remember many years ago, seeing the Empire builder coming straight at us. I don't know this area, so I can't justify East, West, North or South. The tower in the background is still in use, as an attendant would come out, for each passing freight to give an inspection. |
