Old date ?         
I don't know for sure, but I am "thinking" this is ACL 94 which "might" meaning ACL dated, 1894? This is on a crosstie of course, on the ex ACL Parkton NC to Bennettesville SC lina, Now the Red Springs and Northern RR.
