CP 4-6-0 #849 - Canadian Pacific
Description:
The Canadian Pacific's own Angus Shops built this sturdy 4-6-0 ten wheeler as CP 2649 in March of 1910. It was renumbered 849 in 1913-14. The loco lasted until being sent to the scrapper's torch in October of 1959 after almost 49 years of faithful service. Specs - no serial #, class D10e, 63" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 22.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 205,000 lb, tractive effort of 34,425 lb. J.R. Quinn photo
