Title:
PRR 6869, M-1, 1952
Description:
Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, on 24 July 1952. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6869, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during October of 1926 and retired in November of 1955 after 29 years of faithful service. In this context, it's parked over the ash pit for the purpose of shaking-out those red-hot clinkers.
